Raziya, an enthusiastic girl is 25 years of age. Her family comprises both brothers and sisters. She completed her graduation from Delhi University and qualified District Institute of Education and Training (DIET). Her single-minded determination is to get a government job for which she is struggling from many years but every time her physical disability becomes the first obstacle. Despite clearing DIET in her very first attempt, she was unable to get job in any government sector. However, that did not let her down. But a sorrowful incident: demise of her brother, was a turning point in her life. She was totally dejected.
She came in contact with Cheshire Home India -Delhi Unit team during Base Line Survey. The team encouraged in bringing her up. They suggested her that while trying for jobs in government sectors she must try in private sectors too.
She was supported with Basic IT & Job Readiness Training from NIIT Foundation. she begged Best Student Award from NIIT Foundation during the course of her training there. . SheLRC Project team gave her many opportunities, sent her for interviews Spice jet, DLF, Bajaj but again and again she was rejected citing her physical disability as a criterion for ineligelibility. She became demotivated. The whole team boosted up and rebuilt her confidence. She got wholehearted support in this matter from LRC Cheshire Home India -Delhi Unit team. Her Interview was scheduled in Lemon Tree Hotel as she was selected for the Post of Associate – Housekeeping.
She is presently working in Sandal Suites - Lemon Tree Hotel in Noida and is provided with good accommodation and salary. She is very happy and thankful to EUIL Project Team for the support and bringing a positive ray of hope in her life. She wants to help other PwDs by becoming a mentor for them.
