"Today I am a successful man. I earn a better income. I am able to support myself and my family comfortably - thanks to CCH and EUIL-LRC." ...says PremKumar T
My name is Prem Kumar. I live with my parents in the tiny hamlet of Kaniyalapatti in Kadavur village panchayat (group of villages), in Karur district of Tamil Nadu State, India. Chennai is our state capital.
I am 29 years old and have completed my 10th standard. I have locomotor disability. I own a petty shop in my village. I have been running this shop for the past 2 years. My financial status is very poor.
It was at this time I learnt about Coimbatore Cheshire Homes (CCH) through a friend of mine. He took me to Coimbatore and helped me to register my name with them. After my registration, CCH staff provided me with a variety of trainings to enhance my abilities, improve my confidence and sharpen my skills. I undertook Foundation Training, Personality Development, EDP Training (Entrepreneurship Development Program), and Training in Life skills and Business processes.
It was the Livelihood Resource Centre (LRC) at CCH which gave me the idea of developing my own business. LRC gave me financial assistance to buy a Xerox machine. I also stocked my shop with stationery items apart from daily necessities. In addition I supply tea to various places. Today I am a successful man. I earn a better income. I am able to support myself and my family comfortably - thanks to CCH and EUIL-LRC.
